[FILM] Based on the novel Push by Sapphire. This film features a fantastic performance by Mo’Nique (I know, right?! Who would believe it?!) and newcomer Gabourey Sidibe. The story is tough to watch, but ultimately a wonderfully powerful film. Not to mention it comes endorsed by Oprah and Tyler Perry. And people are talking about Mariah Carey’s performance, but that was so unimportant in the scheme of the film - props have to go out to Mo’Nique in what is likely to result in an Oscar nom.
